The problem
Intervention: None evaluated; this is a descriptive study of parental knowledge, hesitancy, and vaccination practices
Who it was tested with: Parents of children aged 0-5 years in Shenzhen, China (n=17,955).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A cross-sectional online survey was conducted from September to December 2025 using a multistage sampling strategy...An adapted Chinese version of the Parental Attitudes toward Childhood Vaccines (PACV) scale was used to assess hesitancy toward SIV." This is descriptive research identifying barriers and correlates of vaccine hesitancy rather than testing an intervention to address it.
This is a descriptive study that does not test an intervention. It cannot determine causality or test effectiveness of any strategy to reduce hesitancy. Findings are limited to self-reported practices and attitudes in one Chinese city.
