The problem
Intervention: Maternal nutrition education about balanced nutritional food for infants
Who it was tested with: Mothers with toddlers in Pasirbatang Village, Tasikmalaya Regency, Indonesia (n=70).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"This is a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 70 mothers with toddlers." The study measured maternal knowledge and stunting outcomes in the same population at one time point, establishing association but not causation, making it difficult to determine if knowledge gaps are the primary driver of stunting.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causation. Study examined knowledge only without measuring actual feeding practices or access to nutritious food. Incomplete document excerpt prevents full assessment of findings.
