The problem
Intervention: Community-based nutrition education delivered through lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions
Who it was tested with: 20 mothers of toddlers at Posyandu in Pattingalloang Community Health Center, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Pre-test results showed that 65% of participants had good knowledge and 35% had poor knowledge regarding balanced nutrition and stunting prevention. Post-test results indicated an improvement, with 80% demonstrating good knowledge and only 20% remaining in the poor category." The study measured the same group before and after the intervention, showing increased knowledge scores.
No control group; no measurement of actual behavior change or child health outcomes; single session with unknown follow-up; no data on long-term knowledge retention; small sample size from one location limits generalizability.
