The problem
Intervention: Standard measles immunisation programme with vaccination at fixed sites or outreach clinics as part of Sindh Province's routine immunisation services
Who it was tested with: 6.2 million children aged 12-23 months enrolled in Sindh Province's Electronic Immunisation Registry.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"We analysed immunisation data from Sindh Province's Electronic Immunisation Registry for 6.2 million children aged 12-23 months. We assessed vaccination coverage at specific ages, calculated timeliness using Expanded Programme on Immunisation-Sindh criteria and examined predictors for timely vaccination using Cox proportional hazard regression." This is a large-scale registry analysis measuring baseline coverage and timeliness without an intervention comparison, fitting the PRE_POST tier as it provides cross-sectional measurement of the immunisation programme's current performance against defined targets.
Study lacks a comparison or control group and cannot establish causation. Coverage and timeliness are measured cross-sectionally from registry data without prospective follow-up. Reasons for vaccine hesitancy or access barriers are not explored in depth.
