The problem
Intervention: Routine immunisation services through the national Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI)
Who it was tested with: Children aged 12-59 months in 6 health districts of Yaoundé, Cameroon (273 children enrolled).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A two-stage cross-sectional cluster survey was conducted in Yaoundé in November 2021, targeting children aged 12-59 months." This observational study documents current immunisation coverage without testing an intervention, showing that routine services are not achieving adequate coverage in this urban setting.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference; limited to urban Yaoundé and may not reflect rural vaccination patterns; vaccination status based partly on parental recall when cards unavailable
