The problem
Intervention: Not applicable—this is an observational study identifying determinants, not testing an intervention
Who it was tested with: 824 mothers/caregivers of children aged 12–36 months in Tehuledere Woreda, South Wollo Zone, northeastern Ethiopia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"An explanatory sequential mixed method was used. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from September 1 to November 30, 2019... Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20. Logistic regression and content analysis were performed." The study identifies determinants of incomplete vaccination through regression analysis but does not evaluate an intervention to improve vaccination coverage.
This is an observational study without intervention testing; it identifies associations but cannot prove causation. Generalizability is limited to similar rural settings.
