The problem
Intervention: School-based HPV vaccination campaign with provision of information to parents through various sources
Who it was tested with: 261 guardians of girls attending intermediate schools in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, during 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025 academic years.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A cross-sectional study involved 261 guardians of girls attending intermediate schools in Rabigh during the academic years 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025. Data were collected through an online questionnaire assessing HPV vaccine knowledge, acceptance, and influencing factors." The study measured associations between parental characteristics and vaccine acceptance without a comparison group or follow-up measurement.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causality. Study limited to one location in Saudi Arabia. No control group or baseline measurement to compare change over time. Online questionnaire may introduce selection bias.
