The problem
Intervention: Measles catch-up vaccination campaigns and strengthened service communication and trust-building strategies
Who it was tested with: Children aged 0-59 months attending urban public health centers in Guelmim, Morocco (n=350 mother-child pairs).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Receipt of a measles catch-up dose was strongly associated with vaccination uptake (82.79% among those receiving catch-up; p < 0.001)." This finding demonstrates that catch-up vaccination campaigns are an effective strategy for improving measles coverage among children who missed routine vaccination during pandemic disruptions.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causality; limited to urban settings in one city; reliance on maternal recall of vaccination status without verification; no assessment of the specific content or duration of catch-up activities.
