Intervention: Resumption of face-to-face classes for kindergarten learners
Who it was tested with: 94 kindergarten learners and 2 teacher respondents in the Philippines.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Utilizing a descriptive-comparative research design, the study assessed 94 kindergarten learners... through the standardized Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) checklist... Results revealed that learners initially demonstrated 'Developing' competencies... However, post-assessment indicated significant improvements, with most learners reaching the 'Consistent' level in all domains after one year of in-person instruction." The study demonstrates improvement in early childhood competencies following resumption of in-person classes, though causation cannot be definitively established without a control group.
No comparison group to control for other factors; single school context; relatively small sample size limits generalizability.
