The problem
Intervention: Character education through storytelling, role-playing, social interaction, habituation, classroom rules, and reflective approaches, supported by collaboration between teachers, principals, and parents
Who it was tested with: Children in early childhood education (PAUD) programmes in Indonesia; teachers, principals, and parents from several PAUD institutions.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study involved teachers, principals, and parents from several PAUD institutions in Indonesia. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies." This is a qualitative case study describing implementation experiences and lessons learned, not an experimental evaluation with outcome measures.
The study is descriptive with no comparison group and no quantitative measurements of empathy or discipline outcomes. It describes implementation processes and identified challenges but cannot demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach or whether outcomes differed from alternative methods.
