The problem
Intervention: This study does not evaluate an intervention but rather examines associations between existing factors and stunting outcomes
Who it was tested with: 66 mothers of stunted children under five years old in the catchment area of Karya Mukti Public Health Center, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"The research design used was cross sectional, meaning that the study was carried out by measuring or observing at the same time or at one time." This correlational study identifies associations between factors and stunting but cannot determine whether these factors cause stunting or are consequences of it.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causation; baseline prevalence data unclear; limited to one health center; does not test any intervention effectiveness
