The problem
Intervention: Parental logistical support for physical activity and utilization of community resources for physical activity
Who it was tested with: 243 children aged 6-10 years in Macau.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Hierarchical regression analyses indicated that logistical support was significantly associated with locomotor skills (β = 0.311, p < 0.01), object control skills (β = 0.117, p < 0.05), and total FMS (β = 0.288, p < 0.01), while community resource utilization was significantly associated with locomotor skills (β = 0.253, p < 0.01) and total FMS (β = 0.204, p < 0.05)." The multivariate regression analysis with statistical significance testing indicates associations between parental support dimensions and motor skill outcomes.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference; measurement relies on parent self-report for support; findings limited to Macau context; does not explain mechanisms of association
