The problem
Intervention: Identification and analysis of risk and protective factors for spousal violence through survey and regression analysis
Who it was tested with: 729 married girls before age 20 in 23 villages across Assiut and Sohag governorates in Upper Egypt.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A household survey was carried out and covered 23 villages in Assiut and Sohag governorates reaching to a sample of 729 married girls before the age of 20... Data was collected by personal interviews using a structured questionnaire. Bivariate and stepwise regression analyses were performed to identify the predictors of exposure to spousal violence." This is a descriptive survey identifying risk factors rather than testing an intervention, so the evidence is observational rather than experimental.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference. Data relies on self-reported exposure to violence which may be underreported due to social desirability bias or shame. Limited to rural Upper Egypt and may not generalize to other regions.
