The problem
Intervention: Nutrition education delivered through lectures and leaflets to mothers of stunted toddlers
Who it was tested with: 42 mothers with stunted toddlers at Mandangin Island Community Health Center, Indonesia, selected by simple random sampling.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
The study employed a one-group pre-post test design measuring changes in maternal knowledge categories before and after nutrition education, meeting the criteria for a PRE_POST study design.
No comparison group to control for external factors; knowledge measured only, not actual feeding practices or child health outcomes; relatively small sample size limited to one island community health center
