The problem
Intervention: A 12-week multicomponent physical activity program (MCPAP) with specialized design and trained professionals
Who it was tested with: 17 parents of boys aged 8-12 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 in Valencia, Spain.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 parents... Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Parents further perceived that specialized programs with trained professionals, adapted methodologies, and small-group formats supported their sons' sustained engagement in physical activity." The study evaluates whether a specialized physical activity program helps children with ASD Level 1 engage in sports, using parental interviews as the evidence source.
Study relies on parental perception only without standardized outcome measures, objective data collection, or comparison group. Results reflect interpretations rather than measured behavioral changes.
