The problem
Intervention: Introduction of mandatory ('no jab, no school') vaccination policies at primary school entry, combined with enhancement of routine immunisation programme coverage
Who it was tested with: Children in seven high-income countries: Australia, France, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, and UK/USA.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"We simulated the evolution of measles immunity profiles in seven distinct countries for the period 2018-2050 and evaluated the effect of possible adjustments of immunisation strategies." The study used mathematical modelling to project outcomes of different policy scenarios, which provides theoretical evidence of effectiveness but without real-world implementation data.
Model-based evidence rather than empirical evaluation; does not account for implementation feasibility, actual policy compliance rates, or evolving vaccine hesitancy; projections to 2050 assume demographic and policy stability
