The problem
Intervention: A health education session for mothers on complementary feeding
Who it was tested with: 87 mothers of children aged 6–24 months in the Puskesmas Windusengkahan service area, Indonesia.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest" - the same mothers were measured before and after the session with no comparison group, which makes this a pre-post design.
No control group, so changes cannot be attributed with certainty to the education alone. It measured knowledge only, not feeding behaviour or stunting, and gave no information on follow-up or how long the gains last.
