The problem
Intervention: Communication, Information, and Education (CIE) workshop delivered by interprofessional team (religious leader, psychologist, maternity nursing lecturer) with follow-up program to increase self-awareness about appropriate marriage age
Who it was tested with: 121 adolescent girls aged 16-30 from an Islamic boarding school in East Java, Indonesia.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"An experimental study with one group pre-test and post-test design was conducted on 121 participants" with paired t-test analysis comparing mean scores before and after intervention. The study measured self-awareness using a modified SSAS questionnaire to evaluate the effectiveness of the CIE strategy.
No control group for comparison; cannot determine if changes were due to the intervention or other factors; unknown follow-up period and long-term sustainability; single school setting limits generalisability.
