The problem
Intervention: Application of the Nurturing Care Framework domains (health care, proper nutrition, responsive caregiving, early learning opportunities, and safety and security) to prevent stunting
Who it was tested with: 214 toddlers aged 24-59 months in the Pagambiran Padang Community Health Center region, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"The study was carried out between June 2024 and January 2025 using an analytical cross-sectional design. 214 children between the ages of 24 and 59 months were selected by stratified random sampling and basic random sampling." The design measured associations between Nurturing Care Framework domains and stunting status in a sample of toddlers but did not test an intervention with a control group, making it observational rather than experimental evidence.
Cross-sectional design does not establish causality. No comparison group or randomization was used. The study is limited to one health service area and may not be generalizable to other settings.
