Intervention: Resilience, operationalised as emotion regulation, family support, and interpersonal assistance
Who it was tested with: Chinese adolescents aged 10-17 years (n=9,035).
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"In this two-wave, 12-month prospective study included 9035 Chinese children and adolescents aged 10-17 years, we used self-report measures... and random-intercept latent transition analysis (RI-LTA) to examine transition patterns." The study tests whether baseline resilience predicts changes in symptom profiles over time, meeting the criteria for an experimental design with a longitudinal prospective cohort structure.
Self-report measures only; short follow-up period (12 months); Chinese population only, limiting generalisability; cross-lagged effects not fully explored.
