The problem
Intervention: Stunting Diagnostic and Education mobile application developed with information on stunting forms, symptoms, causes, video tutorials and guidelines from pediatricians and nutritionists
Who it was tested with: School-going children aged 4-18 years and their mothers/caregivers in Multan District, Pakistan.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"After getting study results, Stunting Diagnostic and Education app was developed according to the instructions of child experts and nutritionists." The app was developed as a response to identified stunting problems, but its impact was not evaluated in this study, placing it at practitioner level with inconclusive evidence regarding effectiveness.
The study only reports baseline stunting prevalence and risk factors; no evaluation of app effectiveness is presented. No comparison group or follow-up measurement was conducted to assess whether the app actually reduces stunting or improves maternal knowledge.
