The problem
Intervention: Different parenting supervisory styles (authoritarian, authoritative, negligent, non-interfering) combined with parental communication, appropriate control, and internet literacy
Who it was tested with: High school second-grade students and their parents in Dezful, Iran (375 students).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Descriptive correlational (structural equation modeling) method was used at this study. All the second grade students of high school in Dezful and their parents in the academic year of 2017-2018 were statistical population of this study. According to the sample size, 375 people were selected based on Krejcie and Morgan's tables." The study measured associations between parenting styles and internet safety outcomes using correlational analysis with a defined population, but without a control or comparison group, limiting the evidence tier to pre-post level.
Cross-sectional design limits causal inference; study limited to one Iranian city; parental self-report on questionnaires may not reflect actual supervisory practices; no comparison group for true experimental design
