The problem
Intervention: Group work and peer social interaction in thematic learning
Who it was tested with: Fifth-grade students (104 students from a sample of 139) at SD Negeri in Kedaton District, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"The type of research is quantitative with an ex post facto correlation research method. The population is 139 students. The sample used was 104 students using probability sampling techniques. The data collection instrument is in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale, which is valid and reliable." The study measured existing associations between group work practices and learning outcomes without experimental manipulation or random assignment.
Correlational design cannot establish causation; no control group for comparison; relies on self-reported data via questionnaire; does not describe implementation details or intensity of group work activities
