Who it was tested with: Pregnant women aged 18-40 years in third trimester who screened positive for psychological distress (n=250, 125 intervention, 125 control) in rural Pakistan.

"Two-arm, single-blinded, individually randomised controlled trial" with "Data were collected at baseline (third trimester), 6 months and 12 months postpartum." This is a rigorous experimental design with randomisation and comparison group measuring multiple outcomes over the postpartum period.
Single-blinded design (participants not blinded); conducted in one rural sub-district limiting generalisability; COVID-19 delayed endpoint assessments by 2 months
