The problem
Intervention: Observational analysis examining the relationship between age at first marriage and marital outcomes; no intervention was tested
Who it was tested with: 57,476 women from Bangladesh aged at various life stages who were married.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
The study states "The data of 57,476 women from the 2019 Bangladesh Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey were analysed using multivariable logistic and linear regressions." This is an observational analysis of survey data examining associations rather than testing an intervention, and therefore cannot provide causal evidence of intervention effectiveness.
This is an observational study without intervention or comparison groups. The cross-sectional design prevents determination of causation. Data are self-reported and subject to recall and social desirability bias.
