The problem
Intervention: Individualised patient and public involvement (PPI) approach with parent partners from non-majority language and/or lower SES backgrounds, involving semi-structured interviews using the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability, feedback on a video of the intervention, and refinements made in response
Who it was tested with: Six parent partners from non-majority language and/or lower socioeconomic backgrounds recruited through a local charity.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"An individualised PPI approach was taken, consisting of two semi structured interviews informed by the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability." Parent partners identified barriers in the first round, refinements were made, and acceptability was re-evaluated in the second round, representing a structured pre-post feedback and refinement cycle without a comparison group.
Small sample of six parent partners from single recruitment site limits generalisability. Study measures prospective acceptability through interview rather than actual implementation uptake or clinical outcomes.
