The problem
Intervention: No Vax, No Visit (NVNV): a parent-led practice encouraging or requiring visitors to be up to date with tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap/dTpa) vaccination before contact with newborns
Who it was tested with: Australian parents of children under 5 years (n=166).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A cross-sectional mixed-methods online survey was conducted with Australian parents of children under 5 years (n = 166). Measures included NVNV awareness and adoption, visitor resistance, psychological distress (K10), and social connectedness. Quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics, χ2 tests, t-tests, ANOVA, and regression models. Open-text responses (n = 456; 152 participants) were analysed using directed content analysis." This is a cross-sectional observational study measuring associations but not temporal sequence; while it includes before-and-after concepts in psychological outcomes, it lacks a control group or baseline measurement, placing it at the PRE_POST tier.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference; self-reported data; Australian sample may not generalise internationally; study does not measure actual pertussis outcomes or vaccination uptake among visitors
