The problem
Intervention: Assistance in child feeding
Who it was tested with: Stunted children aged 2-3 years in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"The Randomized Control Trial (RCT). The sample is stunting children aged 2-3 years. There were 30 children (15 as the intervention and 15 as the control group)." The study used random assignment with a comparison group, meeting the criteria for experimental design, and found significant improvements in nutrient intake outcomes.
Small sample size (n=30), single-site study with no information on intervention duration or specific feeding assistance methods. Unclear whether weight gain non-significance reflects inadequate follow-up time or limited intervention effect.
