The problem
Intervention: Parental repartnering in two forms: living-apart-together (LAT) partnerships and coresidential partnerships
Who it was tested with: Children aged 7 to 16 years from Germany (German Family Panel sample).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Individual fixed effects regressions were estimated for two types of parental partnership transitions: the formation of a LAT partnership and the formation of a coresidential partnership." This design tracks changes within individual children as their parents transition into new partnerships, allowing comparison of the effects of different partnership types on the same children over time.
The study is observational rather than experimental and focuses on a single country (Germany). Causality cannot be definitively established as confounding variables may explain the associations.
