The problem
Intervention: Development and user testing of an online platform that includes an inclusion screening tool and delivers personalized, evidence-based inclusion strategies and resources to teachers and parents
Who it was tested with: PE teachers (n=8) and parents of children with disabilities (n=8) recruited via social media.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A mixed methods design was used to evaluate the platform between September 2024 and March 2025. PE teachers (n=8) and parents of children with disabilities (n=8) were recruited through convenience sampling via national social media outreach and completed individual usability testing sessions via Zoom. Usability was assessed using the System Usability Scale (SUS), the Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS), and task performance metrics. Semistructured interviews were conducted to explore user experiences." The study demonstrates user acceptance through usability metrics but lacks evidence of actual impact on student outcomes, placing it at the practitioner evidence tier with inconclusive outcome direction.
This is a small usability study with convenience sampling and no comparison group. The study measures perceived usability and satisfaction but does not evaluate whether the platform actually improves students' participation outcomes or learning. No long-term follow-up data are provided.
