The problem
Intervention: Training community health workers to identify, refer, and link zero-dose and under-vaccinated children to immunization services, combined with training health care workers to reduce missed vaccination opportunities
Who it was tested with: Children in six low-performing health areas in Kumba North and South Health Districts, Cameroon, including internally displaced persons.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"CHWs conducted household visits, identified unvaccinated children, and provided referrals, while HCWs received training on reducing missed opportunities for vaccination (MOV). Monthly supervision and data review supported implementation." The design measured doses before and after the CHW and HCW training intervention, tracking implementation fidelity through supervision, though without a comparison group.
Pre-post design without control group; outcome measured as doses administered rather than coverage due to population mobility; external factors such as conflict intensity not consistently tracked; duration only five months
