The problem
Intervention: Individual midwife-led psychoeducational intervention delivered in four to six sessions between 24 and 34 weeks of gestation, covering childbirth education, pain management, communication skills, birth planning and anxiety management techniques
Who it was tested with: 74 low-risk pregnant women with elevated pregnancy-related anxiety (PRAQ-R2 score ≥30 points) recruited from antenatal clinics, childbirth education schools and online platforms in Poland.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"This is a two-arm, parallel-group randomised controlled trial with a 1:1 allocation ratio... Data will be collected at three time points and analysed using intention-to-treat principles." The design represents an experimental approach with randomisation and comparison group, meeting the criteria for EXPERIMENTAL tier, but as a protocol, no outcomes can yet be determined.
This is a protocol document; results have not yet been generated or reported. The effectiveness of the intervention is unknown.
