The problem
Intervention: Automated Google Calendar-based immunization reminders sent to mothers
Who it was tested with: 60 mothers of infants aged 0-9 months in Grogol, Kediri Regency, Indonesia (30 intervention, 30 control), selected by purposive sampling.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"A quasi-experimental study with a pretest–posttest control group design was conducted among 60 mothers of infants aged 0–9 months" — this design includes a comparison group, so it qualifies as experimental under the tier rules.
Small sample, purposive rather than random selection, single site, and unequal baseline compliance between groups. Compliance was measured with an observation sheet and questionnaire over a short period.
