The problem
Intervention: Multiple-family group intervention delivered by parent peers or School Health Education Program coordinators, compared to control group receiving mental health wellness materials and educational supports
Who it was tested with: Child-caregiver dyads (60 per school) in three schools in northern Ghana.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"The MFG intervention will be tested and implemented in three schools selected through a clustered randomization process, with 60 child-caregiver dyads per school. Each school will be assigned to MFG delivery by parent peers, MFG delivery by School Health Education Program (SHEP) coordinators, or an intervention where students are supplied only with mental health wellness materials and educational supports." This describes a randomized comparison of intervention delivery models against a control condition, meeting criteria for an experimental design, though outcomes are not yet available.
This is a protocol or implementation plan document with no results data; the study is still in the early planning and adaptation phase. No baseline outcomes or preliminary findings are presented.
