The problem
Intervention: Women's empowerment model based on self-regulated learning, teaching mothers about breastfeeding, food preparation and processing, complementary feeding, and responsive feeding
Who it was tested with: Mothers of stunted children aged 6-24 months in Public Health Center working areas in Malang Regency, Indonesia (76 in intervention group, 76 in control group).
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"The research design used a quasi-experiment. The sampling technique used cluster sampling with 76 respondents in intervention group and 76 respondents in control group." The design includes pre-post measurement of both intervention and control groups with comparison between them, constituting a quasi-experimental approach with a comparison group.
Study does not report child nutritional status outcomes or stunting reduction; specific intervention components, duration, and dosage are not detailed; potential confounding variables and baseline comparability between groups are not discussed.
