The problem
Intervention: The MAMI Care Pathway Package, an integrated outpatient care pathway with adaptable resources for at-risk infants under 6 months and their mothers, delivered within health services.
Who it was tested with: At-risk infants under 6 months and their mothers, plus health workers, research staff, fathers and policymakers, in outpatient health facilities in Ethiopia..
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"a realist-informed process evaluation to evaluate how the MAMI Care Pathway worked, for whom and under what circumstances during the RCT" - this is a qualitative process evaluation of implementation, not a measurement of outcomes against a comparison group, so it is placed in the lower tier and effectiveness is inconclusive.
The document reports qualitative and process findings without effect sizes. It does not show whether the pathway improved infant outcomes compared with control, and implementation varied across sites.
