The problem
Intervention: An eight-week structured intervention integrating inclusive children's literature with creative drama activities
Who it was tested with: 57 fourth-grade primary school students in a public school in Turkey; experimental group (n unspecified) and control group (n unspecified).
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was employed with 57 students enrolled in a public primary school in Türkiye. The experimental group participated in an eight-week structured intervention based on inclusive children's literature and creative drama, while the control group continued with regular classroom practices." The design includes baseline and posttest measurement of a defined outcome (empathic tendency) across comparison groups.
Different teachers implemented intervention and control conditions, potentially confounding results with teacher-specific effects. Sample size is small (n=57) and limited to one school in Turkey. No measurement of long-term retention or transfer to naturalistic social contexts.
