The problem
Intervention: FMF Connect Pro program, an adapted evidence-based intervention using ECHO and self-directed modular training approaches to build provider capacity
Who it was tested with: Community mental health providers (18 participated in focus groups); intended for youth with FASD in mental health settings.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A multidisciplinary planning group employed the theoretically-driven implementation science framework, Intervention Mapping-Adapt (IM-Adapt). This 6-step process incorporated multiple information sources, including literature review, theory, clinical wisdom, and focus groups." The study systematically adapted an existing intervention and obtained provider feedback on acceptability but has not yet tested whether the program actually changes provider behavior or improves outcomes for children with FASD.
This is an adaptation and planning study without outcome data. No clinical outcomes are reported for youth with FASD, and no implementation or effectiveness data are available yet. The clinical trial is described as 'now underway' rather than completed.
