The problem
Intervention: Parent-Led Neuromotor Training Programme integrated with AI-based movement analysis (Google MediaPipe Pose) delivered as supervised home-based training for 30-45 minutes, 5 days per week, for 12 weeks, in addition to conventional physiotherapy
Who it was tested with: Children aged 7-14 years diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) according to DSM-5 criteria and scoring below age-expected range on Movement Assessment Battery for Children-Second Edition (MABC-2).
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"This protocol describes an assessor-blinded, two-arm, parallel-group randomized superiority controlled trial involving 62 children aged 7-14 years diagnosed with DCD according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) criteria and scoring below the age-expected range on the Movement Assessment Battery for Children-Second Edition (MABC-2). Participants will be randomly allocated (1:1) to either an intervention group receiving a Parent-Led Neuromotor Training Programme integrated with AI-based movement analysis in addition to conventional physiotherapy or a control group receiving conventional physiotherapy alone." This is an experimental design with randomized allocation and comparison groups, meeting the EXPERIMENTAL tier criteria.
This is a protocol document only; no results are available yet. The trial has not been conducted, so effectiveness cannot be determined.
