The problem
Intervention: Online survey to identify parents' and guardians' intentions and barriers to accepting COVID-19 vaccination for children
Who it was tested with: 415 parents and guardians in Ghana with children younger than 18 years.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"An online survey was conducted among 415 parents and guardians in Ghana. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 25 was used to analyse the data." The study identifies barriers to vaccine acceptance through statistical association rather than testing an intervention to change behaviour, making it a practitioner-level assessment of the problem landscape.
The study is descriptive and cross-sectional; it identifies associations but does not test an intervention or measure actual vaccination outcomes. Online survey methodology may exclude less digitally connected populations.
