The problem
Intervention: Collaborative parenting (mothers and fathers working together on parental roles)
Who it was tested with: Parents and families in Mukono district, Uganda, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Using a qualitative phenomenological design, with in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, this study interrogated how collaborative parenting influenced motherhood and fatherhood role transformations amidst the COVID-19 crisis and its implication on child well-being." The study explores associations between parental collaboration and child well-being but cannot determine causality due to the qualitative design without a control group.
Qualitative design without comparison group; no quantitative measures of child well-being outcomes reported; limited to one district in Uganda
