The problem
Intervention: Exposure to animation resources, including indigenous animations, for teaching and learning
Who it was tested with: Pre-nursery school children in Osun State, Nigeria (assessed through 180 teachers from private primary schools).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"The study sampled 180 respondents across the private primary schools across the three senatorial districts of the state. Questionnaire titled Animation and Pre-Nursery Children Learning Outcome Questionnaire (APNCLOQ) with reliability co-efficient of 0.93 was used to elicit responses from respondents." This is a survey of teacher perceptions without direct measurement of child learning outcomes or experimental design to establish intervention effect.
Study is based on teacher reports via questionnaire only; no direct measurement of children's learning outcomes or comparison of learning with and without animation; no baseline data or control group; design does not allow causal claims about animation's effect on learning.
