The problem
Intervention: Maternal caregiving practices: exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and household sanitation
Who it was tested with: 93 mothers of toddlers in the service area of Puskesmas Maiwa, Enrekang Regency, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A cross-sectional quantitative design was applied, drawing 93 respondents through simple random sampling, with binary logistic regression used for data analysis." The study identifies associations between caregiving practices and stunting outcomes, but the cross-sectional nature limits it to observational evidence without comparison or control groups.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference; cannot determine direction of association or temporal sequence. Single site limits generalizability beyond the Maiwa service area.
