The problem
Intervention: Mobile phone-based nutrition education intervention (MiNd) modules delivered to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and families
Who it was tested with: Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and infants in Kelantan, Malaysia.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Assessment of anthropometry, dietary intake, food security, mental health, knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of food intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding will be evaluated during pre and post intervention." This indicates a pre-post measurement design without a described concurrent comparison group, which characterizes the PRE_POST evidence tier.
This is a protocol document only; no results or effectiveness data are presented. The quasi-experimental design without description of comparison group allocation raises questions about strength of causal inference.
