The problem
Intervention: Child interviews in post-divorce mediation within the family law system
Who it was tested with: 1,079 children ages 6-17 (mean 10.8 years, 54% girls) involved in post-divorce mediation cases in Denmark.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"By including survey and administrative register data, this study explores how 1079 children (ages 6–17, M = 10.8, 54% girls) experience CP via child interviews in post‐divorce mediation in family law cases processed by the Danish Agency of Family Law and how differences in these experiences are associated with whether the case is settled out of court." The study measured children's experiences through surveys and linked these to administrative data on case outcomes, representing a systematic assessment of participation experiences and their association with case resolution.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference. Limited to Danish context. Does not measure longer-term outcomes for children beyond case settlement.
