The problem
Intervention: Identification of factors associated with full immunization coverage to inform targeted interventions
Who it was tested with: Children aged 12-23 months in rural kebeles of Sekota Zuria district, Amhara Region, Ethiopia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from September 20 to October 28, 2017, among 620 children aged 12-23 months in seven randomly selected rural kebeles of Sekota Zuria district. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was carried out to identify factors associated with immunization coverage." This is an observational study identifying associations rather than testing the effectiveness of an intervention.
Cross-sectional design cannot determine causation. Study is limited to one district and may not be generalizable. No comparison group or intervention testing.
