The problem
Intervention: Understanding and targeting behavioral and social drivers (BeSD framework factors) including vaccine benefit confidence, family norms, and parental vaccination intentions through communications strategies
Who it was tested with: Parents and caregivers with children under 59 months in urban Kampala, Uganda (n=230).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Modified Poisson regression identified factors independently associated with willingness to receive routine COVID-19 vaccination for their children." This observational analysis identified correlates of vaccination willingness but does not evaluate whether interventions targeting these factors actually change behavior or improve vaccination rates.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causation. Single urban clinic setting limits generalisability. Study measures stated willingness rather than actual vaccination behavior. No comparison group to test intervention effectiveness.
