The problem
Intervention: Training and implementation of 'Caminar en familia' (Walk as a family) programme with child protection professionals
Who it was tested with: 20 child protection system professionals in Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Navarra, Spain.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Data were collected by administering a Likert-type questionnaire on two occasions, before starting the training on the programme and after implementing it with the group of families." This describes a pre-post design where the same professionals were surveyed at two time points, with no comparison group.
Study measured only professional attitudes and awareness, not actual changes in family outcomes or child well-being. No control group included. Descriptive analysis without inferential statistics. Small sample size of professionals.
