The problem
Intervention: Introduction of complementary foods (solid, semi-solid or soft foods) at the appropriate age
Who it was tested with: Infants aged 6–8 months in India.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Logistic regression (Generalized Linear Latent and Mixed Models [GLLAMM] with a logit link and binomial family) models that adjusted for clustering and sampling weights were used to investigate the relationship between delayed complementary feeding and associated factors with stunting and severe stunting." The study used a nationally representative survey with appropriate statistical adjustment for complex survey design, making it a quasi-experimental (observational) study with comparison groups.
Cross-sectional design limits causal inference; temporal relationships cannot be established; relies on self-reported data from a single survey; generalizability to current conditions unclear given 2015–16 data collection period
