The problem
Intervention: Integration of maternal immunization into antenatal care delivery platforms
Who it was tested with: Pregnant women and their infants across five low- and middle-income countries (Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Pakistan, South Africa), with specific focus on different socioeconomic groups.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Using a decision-analytic model informed by Demographic and Health Survey data, we simulated the potential benefits of MI-ANC delivery across socioeconomic groups at varying hypothetical MI coverage levels." The study models theoretical scenarios rather than evaluating an implemented intervention, making it exploratory evidence about potential rather than demonstrated effectiveness.
This is a modeling analysis without empirical evaluation of actual implementation. The projections are based on assumed pathways and relationships that have not been tested in practice. Real-world effectiveness would depend on successful implementation and may differ from modeled scenarios.
